As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am licensed to practice in the state of Washington. I have earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Washington, along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. With over two decades of experience in a diverse array of mental health and direct service roles, my career has been firmly rooted in the Seattle medical community. I provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose and prescribe medication to adults age 18-65. I hold certifications in several therapy modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy and cognitive processing therapy. I have extensive experience in mindfulness-based stress reduction and mindful self-compassion. In addition to my role as a provider, I also teach part-time in the School of Nursing at UW.
My practice is anchored in a patient-centered, trauma-informed approach. I collaborate closely with adult patients to evaluate their needs and develop personalized treatment plans, aiming to alleviate mental health symptoms while minimizing side effects. My approach is guided by my passion for learning and evidence-based science; I recommend only those interventions and medications backed by rigorous scientific research. Medication management is an essential aspect of my practice. I also emphasize the value of mindfulness and mind-body techniques, such as breathwork and movement, and share these practices with patients who express interest. Nutritional advice and supplements are integrated into the treatment plan as needed, and referrals for comprehensive nutritional consultations are available.
Most importantly, I prioritize shared decision-making and collaboration. Working together, we can identify your strengths, overcome obstacles, and create a plan of action to help you achieve your goals. I see patients in person or virtually in our Seattle office.
I specialize in the treatment of mood dysregulation, anxiety, stress, trauma, OCD, addiction, and sleep disorders. I do not offer care to minors, nor do I have the expertise to support pregnant or breastfeeding people or patients diagnosed with schizophrenia. Most of my career has been focused on caring for people with complex trauma. As I don't engage in trauma processing, I advocate for patients to work with a primary therapist to ensure the best possible outcomes.
